Paul over at Bring Ohio Home is doing a great job of sniffing out the Ohio pork angle as well. I'm going to suggest a partnership (I know...the 'optimization of resources to accomplish a goal' libertarian in me just can't be stopped) with him to attack this issue from both the right and left, hopefully something we all can agree on:
