What McCain Should Have Said In His Speeches on Energy and Environment

John McCain has shared his thoughts on energy and the environment in recent days, but he has missed an opportunity to present himself as a visionary and address two concerns simultaneously with one initiative. Here's what he should have said:
...My fellow Americans, our is a country built on innovation. We don't cower to the challenges of energy independence and stewardship of our environment. That's why today I'm calling for an all out effort to develop a new economy based on the cleanest form of nuclear energy...Fusion.

If elected President, we will commit this country to fully support the efforts of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor and develop a Fusion reactor by 2015. This will be my top energy priority...
