Hypocrisy Writ Large in Senate Vote Against Children, but for Pork
The Hole Card (HT: Instapundit) points us to a recent Senate vote to table Senator Coburn's S.Amdt. 3358 to S.Amdt. 3325 to H.R. 3043 (Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2008).
And just what would that amendment have done? Just simply:
The vote was 68 to 26 against the amendment. Senator Voinovich, of course, along with several other Republicans, sided with the majority to squelch the fiscally responsible effort.
Definitely a vote to keep in mind next time you hear a politician rhetorically note it's for the children.

...require Congress to provide health care for all children in the U.S. before funding special interest pork projects.
