The only possible reason that Senate Republicans did not grill Louisiana Governor Blanco at yesterday's finance hearing (the way the House grilled Brownie) is that they were afraid she might start bawling again when faced with tough questions about her ineptitude.

How else can one explain the total capitulation of the Republican's in Congress? They're not even trying to make it look like they're attempting to get to the heart of the New Orleans response disaster-within-the-disaster?
