Pork is an emergency, isn't it?

From The Club for Growth:

Get Ready for Tom Coburn

From Congress Daily:
Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla.…wants to eliminate emergency designations for supplemental items he argues should be funded through regular appropriations. Coburn said Monday to expect “lots of fun” on the floor this week.

What that means is that Coburn doesn’t want Congress stuffing pork into the emergency military spending bill that is currently being debated in the Senate this week. As the Washington Post put it, “It’s sad but perhaps not surprising that so many in the Senate have rushed to attach pork to emergency spending legislation designed to pay for military action in Iraq and Afghanistan. It’s a must-pass bill, and so an ideal vehicle.”
