Worth revisting: Coyote Blog on the Minimum Wage

Back in September of 2006, Porkopolis highlighted an excellent post by Coyote Blog on his experience as a small business owner with the minimum wage.

With all the legislative momentum at both the state and federal levels building on increasing the minimum wage, it's worth revisiting a perspective offered by someone who actually pays out the mandated wage: Arizona Minimum Wage Ballot Initiative.

Update: BizzyBlog notes that Congresswoman Jean Schmidt, OH-2nd, voted for the Democrats minimum wage increase in the House. Here's a question that will be asked of Ms. Schmidt in one of her future townhall meetings:

"Ms. Schmidt, considering that you want to guarantee workers in your district a minimum wage for their labor, wouldn't it be resonable to assume that you also support legislation to guarantee a minimum profit for the small businesses in the district as well?"

Those are excellent links. Thank you! Somehow I've let the fact that many states have their own minimums escape my attention. I've been commenting mainly on the Federal changes.

I think we're already seeing the consequences of the federal minimum wage increase bill that is stuck in the Senate right now.
