House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) delivered an ultimatum to his Republican colleagues yesterday that they must approve the upcoming budget resolution.

Boehner told members during their weekly closed-door conference meeting that they must “put their minds around the fact that they have to vote for the budget” measure, said one member in attendance.

The Republicans Boehner is asking kowtow obedience from are none other than the 38 members of the Republican Study Committee that have submitted their own (dare we say it?) balanced budget proposal (RSC FY2007 Budget, Budget Overview & Sample Program Terminations).

Such obedience will be just another nail hammered into the coffin of our 'Do as we say, not as we do party' that has lost all claim to fiscal conservatism. Speaker Pelosi...here we come.
