Voinovich introduces Social Security 'LockBox'

WASHINGTON D.C. –Senator George V. Voinovich (R-OH) introduced the Truth in Budgeting Act of 2005 today, which will guarantee that any trust fund revenues collected for a special purpose, including Social Security funds, will be securely locked away and not lent out for other purposes. This includes borrowing from trust funds to balance the federal budget. Each year the federal government raids the Social Security trust fund, as well as 130 other federal trust funds, and uses the money to pay for national defense, homeland security, the park service, housing programs, education and many other federal government actives...
