Matt Maupin's family to march in upcoming Veteran's Day Parade

Families of fallen soldiers in parade:

Linda Howarter, community involvement coordinator for Wal-Mart, helped organize the event and said the families' presence will be an integral part of the day.

"I think that's absolutely magnificent," Howarter said. "We're just asking the community, surrounding community, to line downtown Main Street with American Flags to honor all veterans, our fallen heroes and POW-MIAs."

Earlier this week, Howarter learned that the family of U.S. Army Sgt. Matt Maupin with the 724th Transportation Co. in Bartonville also will join in the parade.

Maupin is the only U.S. soldier still missing during the war in Iraq. Parade organizers have asked all businesses and residents in Galesburg to place a yellow ribbon outside their homes and buildings in honor of both the Maupins' visit and all those serving in the military.

Hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians are dead thanks to the illegal invasion and occupation of their country. And the military is unveiling a new effort to find some missing soldier who is certainly dead by now? Iraqis get kidnapped off the streets every day over there and there is this much noise about ONE missing dead American?? If my country was invaded without any provocation and I was able to capture one of the invading army's soldiers, he would SURELY be dead before the sun set. I have no sympathy for him. If he had any morals he would have either mutinied or deserted rather than participate in the rape of a nation that was doing exactly NOTHING to provoke the U.S. Everyone in American uniform should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves for this illegal war, this war of aggression. Shame on America.

Shame on America?! Shame on YOU!! Why don't you move if you hate America so much?! Matt Maupin, and ALL of the soldiers fighting, should be honored REGARDLESS of your thoughts on the war. Imbecile.
