Another step towards a hydrogen economy

A hydrogen economy is one alternative to our current hydrocarbon-based (oil, natural gas, coal) ecnonomy. Economically producing large quantities of pure hydrogen from water will be a major milestone in this effort.

Researchers shed more light on conversion of water to hydrogen gas is a Virginia Tech press release providing details on research in this area:

Blacksburg, Va. -- Chemists are several steps closer to teasing hydrogen fuel from water using man-made molecular devices that collect electrons and use them to split hydrogen from oxygen.
